All Saints Church, GodshillProbably the most photographed parish church in the United Kingdom, and the largest medieval church on the Island. It is light and airy, having only a small amount of stained glass, one being the work of William Morris’ eldest son. There is also an internationally famous 14th century mural of Christ crucified on a flowering lily. Many people who have connections with Godshill come back to be married here even though they no longer necessarily live in the parish, which comprises Godshill, Roud, Sandford, Upper Ventnor and part of Rookley. However, in order to be legally married at Godshill, you must either live in the parish, or worship regularly with us for a period of six months at least, before your wedding. People living outside the parish may ask to have the religious ceremony performed at Godshill, if the legal side is done elsewhere. For further details, please contact: |
